Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 23, 2025

Little Answers ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Little Answers mobile application ("the App").

Little Answers is designed for parents and caregivers. The App does not target children under 13 and does not collect personal information from children.

1. Information We Collect

1.1. Email Address (Optional, for Login Only)

If you choose to create an account or log in, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of authentication.

We do not collect:

  • Name
  • Birthdate
  • Profile information
  • Location
  • Device identifiers
  • Contact lists
  • Photos or media

No additional personal data is required to use the App.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store:

  • Child data
  • Child profiles
  • Questions asked by your child
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Biometrics

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking technologies that link data to your identity.

3. Data You Choose to Store Locally

The App stores some data locally on your device only, including:

  • Your question history
  • Your selected settings (age range, mode, app preferences)

This data:

  • Never leaves your device
  • Is never uploaded to any server
  • Cannot be accessed by us
  • Can be cleared at any time from the Settings screen

Clearing local data removes all stored history and preferences.

4. How We Use External Services

Little Answers sends your question to OpenAI to generate a response. To provide an accurate explanation, we send:

  • The question text
  • The selected age range
  • The selected explanation mode

OpenAI processes this information solely to generate an answer.

What OpenAI does not do:

  • OpenAI does not use your data to train their models.
  • OpenAI does not store your data beyond the time needed to process the request.

We do not send:

  • Your email
  • Any child information
  • Device identifiers
  • Local history data

You can read more about OpenAI's data-use policies at: https://openai.com/policies/

5. App Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to help us understand how the App is being used and to improve your experience.

What we collect:

  • Anonymous usage data (e.g., screens visited, buttons clicked)
  • App stability and crash reports
  • Device information (e.g., device model, OS version)

Important Privacy Notes:

  • We DO NOT link analytics data to your email address or account
  • We DO NOT track your location
  • We DO NOT share this data with advertisers
  • This data is collected using instance IDs that are unrelated to your personal identity

6. No Backend Server

Little Answers does not operate its own backend server.

All requests go:

Your device → OpenAI's API → Back to your device

We do not log:

  • IP addresses
  • Requests
  • Metadata
  • Usage patterns

7. No External Tracking Technologies

Apart from the anonymous analytics mentioned above, the App does not use:

  • Advertising SDKs
  • Fingerprinting techniques
  • Web beacons or tracking pixels

7. How We Protect Your Information

We take privacy seriously.

Because Little Answers stores almost everything locally and sends only minimal data to OpenAI, the risk surface is extremely low.

When data is sent to OpenAI:

  • It is transmitted over secure HTTPS
  • Only the minimum required fields are shared
  • No personal or device-identifying information is included

Email authentication data is handled securely via the platform's native authentication mechanisms.

8. Children's Privacy

Little Answers is intended for parents and caregivers, not children.

The App:

  • Does not collect personal data from children
  • Does not create child profiles
  • Does not knowingly allow children to sign up or log in
  • Should only be operated by adults

If you believe that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

You may:

  • Delete your local history at any time
  • Delete your local settings
  • Delete your account (if applicable)
  • Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data

Because we do not store your data on our servers, deleting the App deletes everything.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
